Susana’s deep fascination with medicine and science led her to pursue a degree in Biotechnology at the University of Cádiz. During her studies she gained valuable experience as a trainee researcher in the genetics department. Seeking further personal and professional growth, she undertook an internship in Heidelberg, Germany, where she focused on cancer research.
Following this, Susana completed a master’s in Translational Medical Research at the University Complutense of Madrid. She then returned to Heidelberg as a PhD candidate, where she concentrated on developing therapeutics for targeted radiation. Her close collaboration with healthcare professionals during this time highlighted the need for not only new treatments but also improved access to existing ones.
Driven by a desire to make a more significant impact on patients’ lives back in her home country, Susana joined the Angels Initiative. Since starting at Angels, her passion for healthcare has only grown, as she witnesses the positive impact their work has on stroke patients’ lives.
